  Good morning, everyone,

  Today, it’s a pleasure for me to stand here and I’m very pleased to have such an opportunity to share some of my teaching ideas with you. First, let me introduce myself. My name is and I am from .

  My topic today is taken from Section B of Unit 3 in Grade 7(B). The topic of this unit is “transportation”. It is related to students’ daily lives. We know our lives can’t stay away from the transportation. So it is very important to learn this unit well. Now I’ll prepare my lesson from the following six parts: analysis of the teaching material; teaching aims and demands; analysis of the students; teaching method; teaching procedures and blackboard design.

  Ⅰ.Analysis of the Teaching Material(教材分析)

  One: Status and Function(地位与作用)

  1. This unit tells us the improvement of traffic transportation and the related stories. Besides learning this, students will also learn some words, phrases and expressions of traffic, and so on.

  2. To attain “four skills” request of listening, speaking, reading and writing, I will have the students do some exercise about the text.

  3. Such a topic is very important in this book. I will lead the students to use their imagination and encourage them to be creative. For example, helping them use English to describe their imaginary transportation. So I think if the students can learn this lesson well, it will be helpful to make them learn the rest of this unit.

  4.While teaching them, I will also use light music to let Ss enjoy my teaching and attract them to be more interested in English. In a way, it can be helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken language

  Two: Key points and difficult points(重难点)

  1. the vocabularies about transportation

  2. master the sentence structures :

  how do you get to school ? I get to school by… .Or I walk/… to school.

  How long does it take ?

  How far is it from your home to school?

  3. Plan vacation and choose the suitable transportation.

  Ⅱ. Teaching Aims(教学目标):

  1. Knowledge aims(知识目标):

  1) learn some words about transportation. ( train, bus, taxi, bike, plane, boat, subway, ship, car)

  2) Have the students talk about how to get to places by different kinds of transportation.

  3) Have the students talk about how long it takes to get to places.

  2. Ability aims(能力目标):

  1) To develop the students’ abilities of listening, writing and speaking.

  2) To train the students’ ability of working in pairs and groups.

  3) To foster the students’ abilities of communication and their innovation.

  3. Moral aims(情感目标):

  To foster the students’ consciousness of good cooperation.

  4. Learning strategies(学习策略目标): Personalizing; Inferring vocabulary

  5. Culture awareness(文化意识): Ss will learn different places, different transportation different traffic rules.

  Ⅲ. Analysis of the students(学情分析)

  1.The students have had some basic of transportation, they want to learn more.

  2.They long to learn transportation around the world and want to plan a vacation.

  3.They need to improve their communication skills , especially talking with foreigners in English.(亟待提高与外国人交流的能力

  Ⅳ.Teaching methods(教学方法)

  1. Communicative teaching method(交际法)2. Audio-visual teaching method(直观教学法)

  3. Task-based teaching method(任务型教学法)4. Classified teaching method(分类教学法)

  5. Situation teaching method(情景教学法)

  As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “Audio-visual” teaching method and “Task-based” teaching method and “Classified” teaching method and “Situation “ teaching method. That is to say, I’ll let the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structures. I’ll give the Ss some tasks and arrange some kinds of activities: talking, guessing games, watching CAI .

  ⅴ.Teaching procedures(教学过程)

  Step1.Greeting

  Greet Ss and introduce myself. Guess “ How do I get to school?”

  Step2. Lead-in

  Watch a cartoon video with questions, and present pictures on the screen to revise the words of transportation.

  Step 3 Guessing game

  1. Introduce how to play this game.

  2. Ask the students to guess the kind of transportation by listening to a sound or a description.

  3. Another guessing game, show parts of the pictures, let Ss guess “how does he/she get to school?”

  Step 4 Listening practice

  First explain the instructions, then listen to the tape for the first time and complete 1c, next the second time finish the 1d.

  Step 5 Pair work

  Let Ss practice conversations with the target languages, then choose some of them to practice.

  Step 6 Writing practice and Speaking practice

  3a. Read the e-mail from your pen pal Tom in the US. Fill in the blanks with the words in the box. Choose some of them to read the e-mail. If time permits, complete 3b.

  Step 7 Video

  Let’s have a break, and enjoy an English video.

  Step 8 Summary

  Go over what we’ve learned today.

  Step 9 Homework

  1. Make a survey: How do your classmates’ parents get to work?

  How long does it take?

  2. Make a report according to your survey.
